1. Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet, means “Holy City” or “Place of the Gods” in Tibetan. It is also the ancestral home of the Dalai Lama.
2. The Masai Mara wildlife preserve in Kenya is nature’s stage and a great place to see lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, gazelles, and zebra.
3. The hilltop village of Taxco in central Mexico is that country’s silver capital, with over 250 shops selling silver jewelry and tableware.
4. Australia’s Great Barrier Reef stretches over 1200 miles and is a collection of 2900 small reefs and over 300 stepping stone islands.
5. Sedona, Arizona is home to breathtakingly beautiful red rock country, talented southwestern artists, and delightful inns.
6. Mont-Saint-Michel, on the French Norman coast, is a quaint, fortified island village and the most visited sight in all of France.
7. Santa is alive and living in Santa’s Village near the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, Finland. Take your picture with Santa and pet reindeer here.
8. The ancient city of Petra is one of the wonders of the ancient world and has been miraculously preserved and can only be reached by foot. Indiana Jones found the Holy Grail there.
9. In the dense virgin jungle in the foothills of the Usumacinta Mountains in north central Mexico lies the magnificent Mayan ruined city of Palenque.
10. Ireland’s oldest university, Trinity College in Dublin, boasts an impressive roster of alumni including Oscar Wilde and Bram Stoker.
