Skin Aging Prevention
November 6th, 2007Can aging really be prevented? Can you really do without the help of the many natural anti-aging supplements on the market and still look young and beautiful? Well, the answer is yes (although those products sure don’t hurt!) It is possible to prevent aging with excellent results. If you want beautiful skin, you have to work for it.
The skin is one of the most amazing organs you have. Yet it is one of the most neglected in the first 20-30 years of life. During their youth, people hardly bother about how the skin looks or feels – partly due to ignorance, and partly because there is little perceived need to do so. So what are some easy, low-cost ways to keep your skin healthy and supple?
Remember to remove all make-up at night before you go to bed. Drink at least eight glasses of water daily to maintain high levels of hydration for the skin. Wear a sun-screen lotion when you move out in the sun
Have at least one facial every month – though every fortnight would be better; use natural products or ingredients from the kitchen shelf. Ripe banana, papaya, yogurt, honey, cucumber juice, cabbage juice, mashed water melon, even eggs or oatmeal.
Use a mild moisturizer year-round.
Take a multi-vitamin daily.
Avoid using soap on the face. Use mild face wash so the pH balance on the skin is maintained.
Sleep at least six hours per night. Some people require eight to ten hours of sleep. “Beauty sleep” is a common term for a reason.
Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Beautiful skin begins with proper, consistent maintenance of your body and your skin early in life, but it is never too late to start a skin care regimen and to make better food choices. Your skin, and your body, will thank you.
