Nanotechnology
November 3rd, 2005· The nanometer scale is usually 0.1 to 100 nanometers.
· Nano means nanometer scale or nanotechnology.
· In 2005, computer chips are at the 65 nanometer scale. In order to make these chips smaller, there will have to be a major breakthrough in nanotechnology.
· Nanotechnology is basically the act of scaling things down until they begin to take on their own characteristics.
· Nanoparticles have proved to be catalysts for new materials. A good example is vulcanized rubber that was invented by Goodyear.
· Researchers at Manchester University formed a piece of material only one atom thick in October 2004.
· Nanotechnology is being experimented in hopes that it can be used in surgery on humans. Critics of the nanotechnology are quick to point out that new classes of nanosubstances could affect the immune system and cells walls of humans who undergo procedures using nanotechnology.

This sounds like their messing with something that they shouldn’t be. No nanotechnology for me.

This is really amazing. Creating a piece of material only one atom thick would be quite the feat. Modern technology is fascinating.
