Gale of Darkness: Rated “E” for Everyone

October 21st, 2005

Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is the newest game in the series of creature collecting role-playing games and the second with Game Cube! Gale of Darkness is rate “E” for everyone but recommended for players over the age of 6 and beyond.

This new addition for fans starts out five years after the events in Pokemon Coliseum with a shadow Pokemon (lead by Cipher) attacking a cargo ship in the center of the ocean filled with really powerful shadow Pokemon. Later in the game you’ll learn more about Cipher but the point of the ship heist is to create an evil army filled with shadow Pokemon’s to take over the world.

The Good:

This game features a long story that makes for long playtime, about 20 hours! Plus the new purification system is easier and the game is simple to play usually taking about an hour to get the hang of it.

The Bad:

Catching only shadow Pokemon is a little limited and some won’t appreciate the long play because the battles are longer.

To Sum It Up:

Not much has changed since the last game but it’s still fun because it’s Pokemon and everyone loves Pokemon!

The kids love this game, but all Nintendo did was change the leader. We played this game last year. These games are pricey. You’d think they would put a little more effort into creating them, but then again, why should they. Suckers are born every minute.
