Alaska Fact

Alaska has one bear for every twenty-one people. It is home to grizzly, Kodiak and polar bears.

Alaska is home to Mt. McKinley, the tallest mountain in North America at a height of 20, 320 feet.

Alaska’s State fish is the Chinook salmon, also known as the King salmon.

Alaska’s State sport is dog sledding.

It’s not uncommon for giant vegetables to grow in the gardens of people in Alaska. Why? Because summer days are extremely long. The record cabbage for the State is 94 pounds.

Alaska’s State mineral is gold.

The word Alaska means The Great Land.

Alaska is also known as the Land of the Midnight Sun.

    I would love to visit Alaska. I have seen so many pictures of it and it looks like such a beautiful place. It definitely is God’s Country.

    That’s a lot of bears. I certainly hope they don’t revolt. LOL Could spell disaster for the humans.

    I would have thought that the vegetables would have been smaller in Alaska. Some whopping cabbage. This site is a lot of fun. Keep up the good work whoever is behind the scenes.

    I would love to go fishing in Alaska. That is my dream fishing vacation. They can keep the cabbage though. I dislike the stuff intensely. :)

    Would love to do three things in Alaska - go salmon fishing, try panning for gold, not to get rich, but just for fun and go mushing. I think it would be awesome to ride behind a team of dogs. Maybe one day. :)
